Job Description
Employer: A leading special vehicle manufacturer; A USA-China Joint Venture
Reports to: CEO
Location: Headquartered in Shanghai with operations in Henan. Position is located Shanghai but it is expected to travel to Henan at least 3-4 days a week for the first few years of the job.
I. Key tasks and responsibilities
1) Coordinate the development and monitoring of budgets
2) Participate in corporate policy development as a member of the senior management team
3) Engage the finance committee of the board of directors to develop short-, medium-, and long-term financial plans and projections
4) Represent the company to work with financial partners, including investors, banks, auditors, tax bureaus, etc.
5) Prepare and maintain regular financial reports; Monthly profit and loss forecast (vs. budget)
6) Complete analysis of financial results; Develop recommendations
7) Develop and maintain capital budget
8) Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed
9) Oversee cash, investment, and asset management
10) Develop and utilize forward-looking, predictive models and activity-based
financial analyses to provide insight into the organization’s operations and business plans
11) Oversee the accounting department to ensure proper maintenance of all accounting systems and function
12) Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures
13) Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for company board of directors; Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
14) Coordinate audits and proper filing of tax returns
15) Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
16) Oversee preparation of month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial statements
17) Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations and corporate/overhead cost allocation
18) Evaluate, enhance, and implement ERP and financial & accounting systems, processes, tools and control systems
19) Serve as final point of escalation for Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable issues
20) Develop and manage accounting staff
21) Oversee AR management and provide support to collections activities
II. Qualifications
In-depth knowledge and experience in executing both cash-based and accrual-based accounting, as well as a thorough understanding of both Chinese GAAP and International GAAP
Minimum of an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance from a reputable university; a CPA and/or master’s degree would be a plus
At least five years of progressive experience as finance manager or controller in manufacturing company ( Financial Auditor experience would be a plus)
Native Chinese speaker with working knowledge of English both in written and verbal, while proficiency in English would be a plus.
