the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Cor 2:9)
Outline:
(A) “Christ is All” – Jesus Only, Jesus Ever
(1) The preeminence of the Lord (Col 1:15-19)
● Christ would have the preeminence in all things
● Christ in the center, purpose, and content of everything in our lives and services.
●
● All Sufficient Christ
● • 11 but the land which you cross over to possess is a land of hills and valleys, which drinks water from the rain of heaven, 12 a land for which the Lord your God cares; the eyes of the Lord your God are always on it, from the beginning of the year to the very end of the year. (Deu 11:11-12)
● No longer I but Christ (Gal 2:20)
Christ is our life (Col 3:4)
● •
Our lives, services, and all our gatherings ought to be “of Him”, “by Him”, and “for Him” (Rom 11:36)
●
●
(B)“Christ is in all” – All things work together for the good of those who love God (Rom 8:28)
(1)The wisest choice - Counting all things as rubbish, that I may know (gain) Christ as the utmost prize (Phil 3:8)
(2)The most singular pursuit - “… one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead …” (Phil 3:13-14)
●
(C)Three questions worth pondering:
● “Who do you say that I am?” (Mat 16:15) – Who is He after all?
● “What do you seek?” (Joh 1:38) – What exactly do we want from Him?
● “Do you love me more than these?” (Joh 21:15) – Do we really love Him and count gaining Christ as the utmost treasure?
