Overall Purpose of Job:
Cost Estimating is a part of the Finance Department, Asia Pacific. The prime role is to be responsible for cost estimates and business cases for quotations and also provide support of project cost controlling during execution phase for one of product lines ( e.g Braking, OSS, Electronics, Steering) Asia Pacific.
Major Responsibilities:
• Develop a responsive and capable cost estimating service through his/her direct staff and through the establishment of an effective network of contacts with cost specialists at the operating plants, this will include hiring and training and supervising staff.
• Work with members of Asia Pacific CQA team to develop effective procedures, documentation and processes to deliver quotations on a timely basis.
• Prepare and manage the preparation of cost estimates and business cases for quotations by working with all functions in the organization.
• Develop and maintain the cost models to project product costs
• Responsible for maintaining cost database
• Assist competitive analysis to develop competitors product cost
• Assist the manufacturing plants and Asia Pacific Management team with OPSP and forecast process and make vs. buy analysis
• Assist in special projects as required
Key Competencies:
• Strong business acumen and product cost understanding. Minimum five years experience in Finance/Accounting or Engineering. Plant experience in manufacturing industry desired. Experience in automotive manufacturing industry is a plus.
• Strong communication/coordinating/presentation skill and comfortable working with all levels of the management.
• Strong English speaking and writing abilities.
• Advanced Skills in Excel, and other MS Office products.
Education and Experience:
Educational: Bachelor degree in business, finance/accounting or engineering. CPA, CMA or other professional certification desirable, but not required.
Experience: Experience over 5 years; those with working experience in a multinational environment is an added advantage.
